Below are descriptions of United Way of Greater Niagara’s 15 funded youth progams for 2024.

Spruce After-School Youth Development Program

Academically focused after-school programming, integrating homework assistance and targeted academic support with multi-faceted enrichment designed to support students development and remove future obstacles.
Boys & Girls Club of the Northtowns, Inc.

Girls Circle

In conjunction with NFCSD, designed to foster self-esteem, help girls maintain an authentic connection with peers and adult women in their community, counter trends of self-doubt, and allow for genuine self-expression through verbal sharing and creative activity.
Community Missions, Inc.

Family Reunification and Healing Program

Opportunities for children to exercise, craft, and socialize with mothers and grandparents, family meal experiences with each other to support restoration of motherhood/grandmotherhood to residents.
Immaculata Home, Inc.

Kenan ACRES (Arts, Culture, Recreation, Education, and Sports)

Provides fully developed, holistic programming in sports, arts, and STEAM to the residents of Lockport, including through WAHI Studios, Challenger Learning Center, and Lockport Lacrosse.
Kenan Center

NACS Youth Clubhouse Niagara County

Evidence-based curricula, social/emotional, intellectual/creative expression, physical, community, and vocational/educational. A brief intervention for youth experiencing mild/moderate substance use issues is also provided.
Native American Community Services

Bridging the Gap

Focused academic programming for youth, including: Nutritious snack, Power Hour, Project Learn, Triple Play, SMART Girls, Money Matters, Kids Read, Math Lit, Youth for Unity, STEAM based programming, and Daily Reading in the city of Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club

Youth Empowerment for Aquatic Conservation

Focus on youth and early learners, hopes to instill a sense of wonder and eagerness in the next generation to join us as driving force for aquatic life, features interactive presentations, talks and demonstrations to encourage exploration.
Aquarium of Niagara

Prevention Education Program

Committed to enhancing overall well-being by delivering education and intervention services in the field of behavioral health, specifically targeting alcohol, tobacco, other substances, and gambling using evidence based model programming.
Northpointe Council, Inc.

Casey House Youth Shelter

Provides emergency shelter, emergency crisis counseling, case management, and an initial safety plan. Positive Youth Development activities are facilitated nightly to help provide youth residents with skills needed for a safer future.
Pinnacle Community Services, Inc.

Social Services for Youth/Families

Includes distributing clothing and hygiene/household items, providing rent/utility assistance, and offering support during the holidays. Its case management services include a Pathway of Hope, designed to break the cycle of poverty in families.
Salvation Army Lockport Corps

Youth Enrichment Services

Includes STEM Programming, Summer Day Camp, Summer Residential Camp, Instructional Basketball Training, Music, Consumer Choice Food Pantry, Children and Youth Breakfast Club, Community Garden, Summer Lunch Program and Summer Community BBQ.
Salvation Army Niagara Falls Corps

Youth/Family Programming

Including food, shelter, clothing, and housing programs and specific creative arts and educational programs including Summer Day Camp, Summer Residential Camp, Youth Music, and Creative Arts programs.
Salvation Army Tonawanda Corps

Comprehensive Youth Development

Provides key ingredients that help prepare youth to be self-sufficient, productive adults who are actively engaged in their community, featuring activities that help develop character, life and leadership skills, citizenship, personal achievement and more.
WNY Scout Council, BSA

Mentoring Programs

Both Community Based and Site Based, help develop the skills children need to become productive members of society, including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship building, and responsible decision making.
Youth Mentoring Services of Niagara County, Inc.

Carolyn’s House Youth Enrichment Programming

Provides Homework Buddy Club Age specific support groups for children, Holiday Break Daily Events, Educational Field Trips, and Summer Enrichment Activities to address social/emotional learning gaps for the children of Carolyn’s House.
