DAY OF CARING

Each year, United Way sets out on a mission to bring our community together through a Day of Caring, making a tangible impact on the area we all live and work in through community service projects at several locations throughout Niagara County and the Tonawandas.

Last year, over 200 volunteers came together from across Western New York to complete 38 service projects that impacts the lives of over 29,000 people including over 15,000 youth.

We hope that you will consider working with us and allowing United Way to organize volunteers in order to complete a service project or projects for your agency , or by volunteering as an individual or as a company team-building opportunity.

WORKER’S MEMORIAL

Since 1992, this monument, located in Reservoir Park, has been a tribute to the workers who have lost their lives due to work related injuries or illness. Each year, the AFL/CIO Niagara Orleans Central Labor Council and United Way welcome elected officials and communty members to honor and remember those who gave their lives to the job.

LABOR’S NIGHT AT THE RACES

Each year the AFL/CIO Niagara Orleans Central Labor Council hosts Labor’s Night at the Races to benefit the United Way of Greater Niagara. Held at the Ransomville Speedway, the event hosts over 700 people and is open to the public, providing local labor the opportunity to give back to the community they live and work in. To date, “Labor’s Night” has raised over $207,000 in support of United Way programs.
